Heh, though Gnome DO is fine, I’d choose Cairo Dock over it any day XD.

ffmpeg is not installable and when I put an ubuntu 9.1 guest on Win 7 computer compiz is very very slow whereas with the same pc it was fast in pervious versions. So I’d think twice before switching to Ubuntu 9.1 just yet.

Does ubuntu install with beryl or will I have to install beryl on its own as well?

This is stupid thinking.. You can run ubuntu 9.10 fast, but.. When running it as guest in a virtual pc.. Graphical things will be very slow, because the graphics are calculated twice..

Ive just recently installed Ubuntu, which i am using right now, and i have a few questions. how do i make the screen like a cube? and how do i make the screen wobble if i move it around?

Depending on what graphics card you have you may need to install proprietary drivers (intels should work since they are open source). Once you have 3d acceleration you should download “compiz config settings manager” which you can apt-get thru terminal or from Synaptic. In Compiz config you just need to check the boxes for cube and rotate cube plugins. There is also an option for wobbly windows. Play with the settings, there are alot but don’t be scared, they are fun and resettable.
