Okay I just successfully installed Madriva 2010 on my laptop using VirtualBox. Now that I have installed it and used it. I want to make it the ONLY operating system on my computer. How do I make it so that Windows Vista is no longer on my computer and Mandriva is my only operating system. I dont want to use virtualbox, I just want mandriva as my OS. Any help would be great thanks

Ok I just got done downloading the Live CD torrent file for Mandriva 2010. It gave me 4 .ISO files and I tried using a virtual drive instead of burning the .ISO files to a CD/DVD, which failed because in my BIOS settings I couldn’t find a place to boot from the virtual CD drive. So my question is, is there something I’m missing in BIOS to where I can boot it from a virtual drive, or am I going to have to burn it to a CD? I say CD because my laptop doesn’t have a DVD burner only CD burner. I know the .ISO file is like 4.26 gb, and it’s been awhile since i’ve burned a CD so do CD’s even come in 4.26 gb or is it a must to burn to dvd. I’m pretty knowledgeable when it comes to computers (except i’m a first time Linux user) so I dont know if im overthinking this or what. Any help would be great. Oh and I’m not trying to install 2 OS. I just want Mandriva 2010.

I have been trying to install Debian as a dual-boot on my Vista OS. I have the installer set up, but after I go through the whole process and it’s installed, when I reboot and run Debian, I get a whole bunch of Command-Line stuff, and don’t know how to get to the GUI. Can someone help me?

I still want the computer to run fast, will I be able to run both of them seperately but still have them on the computer. I will most likely have windows vista home premium and linux fedora core 6 installed onto the computer. The computer will be an emachine, it will be a T5224 desktop model.
