Where can i find ndiswrapper after i installed it on ubuntu 6.06?

Please Please answer this question in beginner/newbie talk because i don’t understand a lot of the terminal talk. P.S. try to avoid answering by saying i have to use the terminal to open ndiswrapper. But if that’s the only way then please explain.

MCNlive(Mandriva)+ndiswrapper = problems?

First I am a complete Linux idiot, so any response will need to be written for a 5th grader!

MCNLive is based on Mandriva 2007.1, and has the ndiswrapper 1.2 pre installed. I am able to get my wifi card working via ndiswrapper in OpenSUES so I know for sure my network card is compatiable. I believe that the version of ndiswrapper installed on MCNLive is too old, so my question is……….. How would I go about updating the ndiswrapper? The ndiswrapper websight has a version to download, but all of the documentation is offline and the MCNLive fourms are in Dutch (and I do not know Dutch). The package manager does not have a newer version either.

Thanks in advance for any help!
Where would one look for the ftp address? I can find the sourceforge version. Remember 5th grader answers! Thanks for the first answer..

NDISwrapper, in openSUSE 10.3 x86_64?

Alrite so earlier today i installed openSUSE 10.3 x86_64 on my laptop everything is working pretty smoothly accept i cant connect to my wireless network at home – my Linux sees the wireless card which is a dell 1390 wireless but i cant connect to the network (works when i use my ethernet cable though)

Anyways so i think the problem is in the drivers, so i though ill try installing Ndis wrapper, downloaded the tar ball un tarred it and tried installing it, but that didnt work, just gave me errors when i was trying commands like MAKE MAKE INSTALL… and all that other bs the documentation tells me to do. But no luck.

Any idea on how i can get this to work? or how to install NDISwrapper?
hey i got NDISwrapper working so i transfered the module wvr no luck still, and the wireless card still doesnt want to connect.
