I’m currently using Ubuntu 10.04, and want to upgrade to a Linux OS thats more advanced than Ubuntu . I was orginally think Slackware 13.1, but that be a little to advanced. Now i’m think Crunchbang Linux, but are there any other ones that arent to hard but also not that easy ether?? I’m probaly asking for to much…..

I want ubantu and debian as a linux os, where is the exact link where to download it. I went to linux.com or something like that and it gave me a whole bunch of stuff i didn’t understand. I also need the link to where it’ll put fdisk and command prompt on my floppy disk, thanks in advance.
no, no, no, no. I’m not trying to install a os from a floppy disk, thats retarded. I want to partition a harddrive which I need the floppy before I install the os otherwise I won’t be able to.

Okay, this is not the first time I have had this problem. I decided to install OpenSuse 11.0 on top of Windows dual boot, and the Linux OS won’t connect to the Internet but Windows will. Any ideas?

I have a linux OS, I think is it called Xandros for my Asus EEEpc 4G.

I believe I have Gimp… I right click on a picture and go to External tools and some programs are listed, such as Kolorpaint and GwenView. And The GIMP is also listed. But when I clicked on it an error came up that said

¨Could not find ´the´ ¨

So I went to Gimps site and saw the command they had for debian:

apt-get install gimp

And I am no wiz and have no idea what this means, so I went into the ¨configure external tools¨ and clicked GIMP, and in the command line pasted that in.

So now when I click on gimp, nothing happens at all.

Can someone please explain to me IN VERY VERY CLEAR AND SLOW TERMS (I am a total Linux defunct idiot) how to get gimp to run?

Where to go and all that.

Is Macrosofts’ Windows 7 actually really Linux. Is this when NOVELL had their licensed linux OS OpenSuse, then Macrosoft partners and takes the source code.?
They currently now have released OpenSuse without the license again, then Microsoft has W7 lined up for an emergence(Y) backup
