I decided to try out fdc6 last night but in the instalation process I formated my entire hard drive (removed windows xp completely).

Now that I have decided that fdc6 is definetely not for me I dont know how to reformat the hard drive again and get my windows xp back…

when I try and boot from the windows xp cd it does not work, the disc spins and the screen goes black…

pleeease can someone help me, I will never complain about microsoft ever again

just a note to all the linux fans…the biggest problem I had with fc6 was that the mouse cursor would go to the left every time I opened up any application and it would stay there, this seems to be a common problem as I have found it reported on red hat bugzila

seems to me if an operating system had this kind of bug and the community is not able to fix it then this operating system is worthless…how are you supposed to do anything without a mouse.

I already have Sindows XP. Now i like to have Dual Os. So Like to install Federa Core. I have images of Federa Core OS. I have one Partition free with NTFS File system.I dont know how to install the Federa Core in that..

Is it better to go with Fedora and Red Hat, or could I just go to Distrowatch and download w/e knock off version they have and do the same thing? (Keep in mind that I’m a n00b at the whole Linux thing.) The Idea of buying Fedora Core 6 or one of the Red Hat Versions is kind of not what I want to do, but if I have to do that to get the better product, I will.

I’m looking forward to install Fedora Core 6 on my laptop with 768 MB RAM (shared with video memory – variable 8MB to 128MB).

What should be the size of swap partition?

I’m not gonna run any SQL server or anything just using Linux for academic purposes.
