i downloaded linux debian operating system in image form and i tried to install it but i couldnot. it seems that the computer dont boot from the cd.
tell exactly what to do?
the first booting device is the cd rom and i burnt the file to the cd in iso form but the problem still remains

I am wanting to start using linux but i dont want to lose vista. How can i dual boot Mandriva. I have tried ubuntu and it does not work so i thought i would try something different.

I am having a serious problem. Okay let me start from begging, my computer got a damaged SUI file and now i cannot logon my windows account without being red alerted, please do not try to tell me something i dont know about this, i have spoke to microsoft support numerous times and many hours each time.

I am trying to install a linux OS on my computer, i am currently attempting to get Mandriva on my computer, i have the iso extracted on my USB, i changed my BIOS to load USB first, and when i restarted it says ” No OS on pin drive” so then it just goes to windows. If you dont know anything helpfull dont post, it seems i only get 3 awnsers each time i ask and i rather not give a rats-ass about you have had the same issue and you also would like the awnser, if thats the case then just wait, there might be someone helpfull in here. Thank you.

I have ubuntu 6.06. It works well, except ihave no idea how to install gcc. I dont have internet on that particular computer, and all programs are installed from a flash drive. Does suse come preloaded with these. I noticed it is 5 times the size of Ubuntu when downloading it. It has to be better in some way.

which one do you think is best, im not that much of a linux noob so dont tell me to go with ubuntu just cus im a noob, which one do you think is best and which is fastes, also what about KDE vs GNOME?
