Trying to install Mandriva 2010 on Vista.?
Ok I just got done downloading the Live CD torrent file for Mandriva 2010. It gave me 4 .ISO files and I tried using a virtual drive instead of burning the .ISO files to a CD/DVD, which failed because in my BIOS settings I couldn’t find a place to boot from the virtual CD drive. So my question is, is there something I’m missing in BIOS to where I can boot it from a virtual drive, or am I going to have to burn it to a CD? I say CD because my laptop doesn’t have a DVD burner only CD burner. I know the .ISO file is like 4.26 gb, and it’s been awhile since i’ve burned a CD so do CD’s even come in 4.26 gb or is it a must to burn to dvd. I’m pretty knowledgeable when it comes to computers (except i’m a first time Linux user) so I dont know if im overthinking this or what. Any help would be great. Oh and I’m not trying to install 2 OS. I just want Mandriva 2010.
How can I remove my linux distribution and simply boot from windows?
I am running windows 7 and openSUSE 11.2 and I want to just run my openSUSE in a virtual box. The only problem I encounter is that when i delete my openSUSE partitions, I error 22 and can’t boot. I don’t want grub or openSUSE there anymore. What do?
Ubuntu or Fedora or OpenSUSE ?

Why won’t my computer boot to CD?
I am attempting to install Fedora Linux on my PC (hp pavilion 540n) and for some reason there are a lot of problems (listed below). Anyone able to fix any problems please help….I am at my wits’ end, I tried a new monitor, unplugging the hard drive, and restarting multiple times.
1. I can’t boot to the CD.
2. When I figured I should try to fix the BIOS, I can’t get to it.
3. My HP loading screen won’t show up (and it’s not the monitor, because I tried two different ones), thus I cannot tell what button I have to press to get to setup options
4. I have limited capabilities. I don’t think I have floppies (thus a boot floppy is out) or CDRs, CDRWs, DVDRs, etc. I have a few motherboards somewhere but that’s pretty labor-intensive to replace. I do not have any other hard drives.
5. (my favorite) I don’t know if I have a Windows XP CD, and I doubt it would boot from that anyway, my Ubuntu install disc didn’t work either.
Thanks in advance for any help!
After first answer, I’m in trouble.
Anyone else?
