So here’s what I’m trying to do. My internet connection is via a T-Mobile branded 3G/4G USB modem which works fine. At the moment it is connected to an old ASUS laptop (running XP SP3) that does not have a built in wireless adapter. I also have an AirLive WLA-5200AP wireless access point (specs here; http://www.airlive.com/product/product_2.jsp?pcid=PC1214554004088). What I want to know is how to share the laptop’s internet access via the wireless ap. Is such a thing even possible? The other computers I want to share with are an Acer Aspire One (XP), an Asus Eee (Debian) and MacBook (OS 10.5)

I’m generally fairly good with computers but what I know about networking and specifically wireless networking, could be written on the back of stamp.

Any help much appreciated.

I have a linux OS, I think is it called Xandros for my Asus EEEpc 4G.

I believe I have Gimp… I right click on a picture and go to External tools and some programs are listed, such as Kolorpaint and GwenView. And The GIMP is also listed. But when I clicked on it an error came up that said

¨Could not find ´the´ ¨

So I went to Gimps site and saw the command they had for debian:

apt-get install gimp

And I am no wiz and have no idea what this means, so I went into the ¨configure external tools¨ and clicked GIMP, and in the command line pasted that in.

So now when I click on gimp, nothing happens at all.

Can someone please explain to me IN VERY VERY CLEAR AND SLOW TERMS (I am a total Linux defunct idiot) how to get gimp to run?

Where to go and all that.

Yeah, I know I need to download some kind of unpacking device, like openSUSE, to install programs, but I can’t figure out how to install THAT in the first place. I found an instruction guide that tells me to enter manual commands, but the problem is, I don’t even know where to go to enter these commands.

I am so frustrated right now. I want to learn but I have no experience operating on this kind of desktop and really can’t figure out what to do. Help!!!
