open suse on sony vaio problem !?

I have got a sony vaio notebook with following configuration :

>Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 1.8 GHz
>NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GT GPU
>I GB RAM
>120 GB Hard Disc Space
>OpenSUSE 10.3 dual booted with Windows XP Home

Problem lies with my Nvidia 8400 GT GPU graphics card.
My Desktop Effects are disabled in Open SUSE 10.3.
Sax2 shows that my graphics card is not under xgi list and no 3D acceleration support is there for my graphics card.

Please suggest a working solution to my problem so I can see desktop effects in my Open SUSE 10.3

Hi, r the drivers installed then run the following commands:

    sudo gnome-xgl-switch –disable-xgl

    Nvidia doesn’t need xgl.

    run these commands:

    open a konsole

    type “su”
    run these commands as root

    nvidia-xconfig
    nvidia-xconfig –composite

    nvidia-xconfig –render-accel

    nvidia-xconfig –add-argb-glx-visuals -d 24

    restart your system
